Attitude is Everything

Like many, I woke up this morning not knowing what the day would bring. Is it going to be a good day, a bad day, a roller-coaster day, a did you really just say that day, a day full of joy and hope, a day where I could handle anything or a day where I just want to hide under the covers? Thankfully, I got my answer pretty quickly. It’s going to be a glorious day! Yes, I did just receive great news: a couple I matched is pregnant with identical twins (from a single frozen embryo transfer), another a confirmed singleton and a birth announcement of a beautiful baby girl. That kind of news (in threes no less) always helps keep my spirits high but in the end attitude is everything.

We all have crappy days, days where we want to throw in the towel and when you are going through fertility treatments, that feeling can be two or three fold. I’ve gone through it and it’s hard to get out of it. It’s hard to change your attitude when there’s nothing but gloom and doom. Let’s face it, there’s a lot of gloom and doom in the world right now. The truth of the matter is, life and many situations are what you make of them and you are in control of your attitude. If you’re not feeling in control, you have to try to get control and keep yourself in a good place, especially when going through life altering moments are beyond your control. I don’t want to come across as the preacher today, that’s not my intent. I just want you to know that life is good and beautiful and what you make it. Your are beautiful and you can be strong. Surround yourself by positive energy and family and friends. And if you just want to hide because things aren’t going your way, it’s okay. You are entitled. Just try to remind yourself of all that is good. Those affirmations will help to keep you on the right path and smooth the curves along the way.
